Updo Hair Styles

When selecting an updo hair style, you must consider your face shape and personality. For example if you are trying to find a hair style for your wedding, you will want to match the hair style to the look you are going for.

The updos shown below feature several different options fo the updo. First we have Jessica Alba, then Maria Menounos and Sienna Miller.

Jessica Alba's updo features a deep side part with long side swept bangs framing the face and sides. All of the hair is pulled back into a medium-high chignon.

The hair has been highlighted to draw your attention to Jessica's facial features.

Add long sparkly earrings to this updo and you will look like a star as well.

This updo style can be created at home, with a little practice. If you are not comfortable or just can't seem to get it to look like this, you can always schedule an apointment at your local salon.

Maria Menounous is wearing an all over curly hair style that also features long side fringe from a deep side part.

To create this style, first add curls all over using a medium barrel curling iron or hot rollers.

Allow the hair to cool completely before continuing. If you start working with the hair before it cools, you may lose all or most of the curl you just put in.

Next, pull back the hair and twist into a chignon, but leave out the ends to lay softly in the crown area.

Sienna Miller is wearing an updo that features a high chignon with several wispy strands left out for that soft, romantic look. The hair is parted down the middle for added dramatic effect.

This classy updo doesn't need too many accessories. Sienna is only wearing a diamond necklace.
